.228 is running fine for me. I'm not understanding the media player complaints. Just listened to about 15 songs while shoveling my way out of a blizzard using the headphones RIM includes with the Bold. No issues with the media player. Flycast worked fine as well.

It appears to be an operator specific problem (as in which operator your device was purchased from). I thought it was only Etisalat, but it appears from your post Zain may be having the same problem... unless you purchased an Etisalat device and used it on Zain. I'm having the same issue with Etisalat from .190 up to .215 GPS was not working. Have not tried anything higher. I'm on .185 now.

By turning your volume all the way up/down and letting the entire songs play thru the next song is still at the same volume and not back to default?

I installed 228 this morning, everything seemed to go smoothly. Then after about 10 minutes of usage, while in etrade, the phone froze up. I did a battery pull, restarted, and now I can't go into the options menu or open the camera. I get an "Uncaught exception: java.lang.error".

I think it's the visual voice mail app. It could not configure itself. It seems to load first, and it stays loaded and I don't know how to close it. Is there a way to delete it on the phone without a pc? That way I can eliminate it as the source of the problems before I go home.

I personally feel that the bold is pretty much bug free and runs well on .216. I really don't see the need to try these betas anymore until the next official release. .228 has the wallpaper bug as well as the voice and video on slingplayer doesn't match up. Was enough for me to go back to .216.

There is no way to exit the Visual VM app. It stays open and displays an error message about how it was provisioned and to call your carrier. Other than that I have not seen any issues.

My guess is that we are getting close to another official release soon. We went from .167 to .190 (+.023) and .190 to .216 (+.026). Hopefully my bluetooth problems will go away in .240 when it comes out. It's just too much of a hassle to upgrade when on a BES. Unless you guys can report that you've seen Bluetooth problems go away in .228. Have any of you experienced any Bluetooth problems go away in .228? Please let me know. Thank you.

I think the beta hope is for some speed optimizations, so even if .216 is fairly bug free, some performance increases (browser rendering for example) would get a lot of people to upgrade to another beta.

Too bad it sounds like .228 is actually a bit slower.

My install freezed halfway through..
Not sure what the problem is. Hope I can retry.
Do you need to delete the vendo.xml for beta also?

Well....Reading all these threads is enough for me. I d/led .228 and was waiting to read more before I installed it on my Bold. I'll be deleting it when I finish this thread.
