7.1.0.74 Leaked for 9810 (unofficial installer)

Homer, I haven't noticed a mem leak on my end. Have you pinpointed the source, or is it just .74 altogether?

Much better for me to wait until you get this one done.. seems much better than going through the patch process.. I assume you'll edit your first post in this thread with the link to the new installer?? thanks!

I'll actually be making a new post in the hybrid section. I don't have a radio file for this java set, so this will be a true hybrid. If I have any errors, I'll be back in about an hour.

This should only be accomplished after you have completed Mecca EL steps and patch.

Here is a patch of mine for having all of the cods on your device read as 7.1.0.74.
71_cods_patch.zip
1) Use BBsak or equivalent to upload them to the phone.
2) After the phone restarts, find the net_rim_bb_nabsync.cod file and delete it from the phone. This file must be locked so this is the only way to update it.
3)Then find the net_rim_bb_nabsync.cod file within my patch and using bbsak to upload this file to the phone.

After these steps you will have a full system read of 7.1.0.74!!

Thanks for this release. I am just trying to help make it full. I know that this patch will now make it a hybrid. But that's why we are here!! hacking away

OK, so I have finally opted to install the 7.1 and patch files. Took a little doing, but most everything seems to be working VERY WELL! I do experience one qwirk, however. When I press the select button to open an email, I have to press it twice.

Any thoughts?

No issues with it. Might try a physical "Battery Pull" or another if you have already initiated one. Can't hurt.

I've actually done four or five?!?! But other than this issue, I seem to be getting awesome battery life and the software seems very quick and solid. However .585 was feeling very good as well.

It doesn't. Just manipulates files to read as 7.1. That's it......unless there's some benefits/improvements not mentioned for using the additional steps.

Working like a charm here, took a bit of time yesterday with injecting the COD's but the posts here were very useful, no issues so far since patching.

Batt drain is between 5-7% over the past day with normal usage, with it at 10% when using mobile hotspot.

for some reason i cannot get the 7.0.0.540 loaded to my device....is anyone else having the issue as well? I have deleted the device and vendor.xml files....I have tried JL_Cmder and still no luck...I also have tried BlackBerry Control Manager Program and it will not install over top of my software.....keep in mind i have done this all with and without the Battery on my device...HELP ASAP PLEASE!!!!

1. go to add remove programs and uninstall all of the Blackberry OS installs listed there.
2. reinstall the 7.0.0.540 again
3. remove the vendor.xml files in both locations.

\Documents and Settings\*username*\Application Data\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader

4. Plug in your phone with the battery installed and while phone is booting and about
halfway thru the boot go to step 5. ( you want to start step 5 prior to completion of
the boot)
5. go to c:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader and select the
apploader.exe file
5. follow the install instructions on the screen

Did you say you're deleting the device.xml file?
Don't do that. I did that and couldn't load for 2 days!

Just delete the vendor.xml file in 2 seperate places...
