6.0.0.480 fixes keyboard issues?!

So, some users of 6.0.0.480 are reporting it has FIXED their keyboard stuttering issue. How many people have tried this and can report the same?

This would be a big BONUS if it fixes this as I'm ready to throw this phone out the window...

Anyone?

It's very very sad to hear this, I really thought they fixed it. I do not have this problem, but I've only been using my device for a week. I hope it doesn't start to do it.

That was a creepy software problem, but then again, OS updates do fix SOFTWARE problems.

Got that this time palmerized?

I agree. Sadly, the stuttering keys are a randomly appearing hardware problem.

Mine will still do a double space with a period so the problem is STILL there and is a HARDWARE PROBLEM!

I'll just wade in here again...

I've been running OS 6.0.0.480 on my 9780 for almost a day now and have had effectively no stuttering. There may have been one or two occurrences, but it's hard to tell if I just plain hit the key twice, or the device incorrectly saw it it as two keypresses.

I don't disagree at all that this is fundamentally a hardware issue (crappy keyboard with poor debouncing). Fortunately, in this case it is also something that can be masked in software just by decreasing the keyboard response rate slightly - which is what they seem to have done. I suppose I could try reinstalling an old OS to see if the problem comes back, but I'm just not that masochistic...sorry.

Depending on just how bad your particular keyboard is, maybe this update can't fix your device. In my case, prior to installing this OS typing on my device was brutal - the improvement has been night and day!
