What difference does it make as to which carrier is best we have what we have unless we switch. I am cool with TMO so no complaints here. I just want the new OS upgrade whenever, and wherever I can get it bottom line.

There is no way that att is better that tmo. First of all, att's cust service is sub par at best. When my tmo contract ended, I went to att, and found that when I tried to call att's cust service after 8 or 9 at night, there was nobody home. I couldn't believe that their cust service wasn't a 24/7 service. I guess I had gotten so used to tmo's 24/7 service that I thought every one had that. And secondly, my tmo plan with 2 lines, unlimited test, and unlimited data on both lines one bb and the other standard Smartphone data plan is only 135 a month, where the comparable att package was over 170 a month. Fortunately, I didn't cancel the tmo accounts before I realized that the att service was overpriced and incredibly lacking. So, I canceled the att quickly, and just kept my tmo service. And even with the 3g in mind, tmo is supposed to be rolling out 3g service within the next couple of months so that is really a nonissue.

Next couple of months might be cutting it close.

Both carriers have their pluses and minuses. I had TMo with business for 12 years and left them due to Customer Service and coverage issues. AT&T certainly has better coverage (where I live, work and play), and that the biggest consideration.

Does it really matter "who is the best carrier" in the end what really matter is when will the OS be out, who will be the first to certify it and how long before the other carriers get it done.

Look at the unlimited calling plans, all of the carriers jumped on it within days. In the end I don't see carriers sitting on the side lines and worse case the 87xx doesn't get it while the 81xx, 83xx and 88xx does.

Unlimited callings plans... ahha... heh.. hahaha... ... Rogers. *shakes fist*

Really though, I was so hoping that February 29th was going to be a good solid date, and now I'm wondering where that promise ever came from. I guess my 8gb sdhc will have to wait for another day.

le sigh~

Not only is it personal opinion, sometimes it is as simple as the PERSON who waits on you at a particular store, or whether that store is a satellite, or an "actual" store, if that makes any sense.

When I got my Pearl, I went to an att "store" with questions about my phone, and the people there (mostly a bunch of kids who were sitting around shooting the....breeze)were no help at all--insisting that they couldn't help me.

On my way home, I stopped at a bigger att store, and got the problem (a sim card issue)fixed promptly and more importantly, POLITELY. They even took off the set up fee as an apology for the behavior of the other store.

That "satellite" store has since closed--I'm not surprised.

Most of us have been anxiously waiting since beta were shown of the OS a few months back. My brother who got a berry will he was on break from basic training, but had to leave it in his locker when he got back, was chomping at the bit for the OS when he got his phone back 2 weeks ago. He couldn't believe it wasn't out yet! He even had our dad bring his laptop with to the graduation so he could do the update.......at least it hasn't detered his berry addiction. He's quite happy he can use his phone during advanced training now though.

Oh yeah, my $0.02 on carriers, I have been with T-mobile for almost 6 years now. Back when I switched they were the only ones with a family plan which is what I was looking for. Since then, others have them, but either their service, both customer and/or phone, stinks, or they are quite expensive. Sure 3G would be nice, but for my traveling lately T-mobiles UMA service has been invaluable (I have saved far more than the cost of my phone in roaming fees!). So as someone mentioned before, different carriers are better in certain areas and for different peoples needs. I really get sick of hearimng "mines best" all the time. Are we still in high school (no offence meant to those who are)?

Im new to the BB community but the 4.5 os has some features I'm waiting for. Granted my curve doesn't come in the mail till tomorrow, but Im just curious if BB has previously taken long times to release updates. Idk if it was just speculation that the release would come out at the end of last year, and then that it was pushed back to Q1 of '08. I guess simply put, does BB have a habit of taking a while to release a new os?

I had my BB for 4 months and from what I read in these forums, I can say I assume that RIM (Research in motion) is always researching for things to make it tick and i guess its taking them a long time to run and test it quite a bit before releasing it. I also can tell that Rim is growing strong. Perhaps they are scared to push things out too quickly to see million of people angry when their 400.00 BB becomes a very expensive brick and watch their stocks plummet where no moolah has gone before.

Make sense? That is my assumption, I can be wrong from get go.

Good assessment, J.

OS 4.3/4.5 has been less than stellar, and I am hoping what is released is an improvement.

3G simply put is the super fast connection that can support voice and data at the same time. I do not recall the exact speeds but it will get your device in the say 500k to 1MB speed range (again a rough estimate.
