So the Bold has Wi-Fi and the Storm probably won't. Can someone explain this to me and why I might care? If I can connect to 3G via the Storm, what does Wi-Fi get me?

I know many of you are laughing at the question, but that's why I'm here in the newbie section.

    Welcome to CrackBerry.

The advantage of Wifi is the ability to use Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA).

If you have a strong 3G signal, there is little benefit. If you are in a place where the signal is weak or non-existent, UMA provides another path for your voice and data.

OK, thanks guys, makes sense. To the last point, I'd still need a hotspot to utilize the UMA path whatchamajigger, correct? And if I don't have that, i'm sunk anyway.
