    Hi im a new blackberry user and just wondering if someone could explain a couple of things ive been reading on here.

    What doe 0S stand for? and what is it?

    Everyones talking about different software versions like 5.0 etc. Are these just downloaded off the blackberry website/desktop manager just as an update? And in that case why doesnt everyone all just have the latest version?

    Thanks

    OS = Operating System

    Most of the OS talk you speak of is leaked betas which are not available from Blackberry and not everyone wants to download them.

    Also all the companies didn't release the same upgrade even though its the same phone. For example Verizon's official OS for the 8330 is 4.5 77 while sprint and others released 4.5 131 same phone different software.
