Is there a way to actually activate voice commands from the headset without opening the voice dialing application on the 8800? It would be great to be able to initiate calls without having to fumble with the phone due to voice dialing application timeouts, etc.

Sure does - I was hoping something like that were true. Danged if I could find it in the documentation anywhere (although I'm sure it's there.) Thanks a bunch!

On my Motorola H550 headset all you have to do is tap the call button once and speak the name after the voice command prompt. When holding it down it will automatically redial the last number called. The H655 shouldn't be much difference.
