    Hi everyone,

I have to be honest. I haven't owned a Blackberry since maybe 2005 now. I actually prefer Android at the moment and for the foreseeable future.

But I am very much interested in the Mobile phone industry, whether it be Operating systems like Android, Blackberry, iOS, Windows Phone or manufacturers like Samsung, Apple, Lenovo, Xiaomi, Huawei. I have a number of years experience working in the telecommunications industry in the UK and I love stats, facts, figures etc...

They call me the numbers guy because I'll be able to find a number for anything. I've written many reports on the Mobile Phone industry in general and even specific reports on certain Networks, Manufacturers and Operating Systems. If you ask me for a number or stat then I will do my best to find out the answer.

So whilst I'm not Blackberry's biggest fan I do hope you can all accept me on this forum. You won't see me in the devices thread but you'll probably see me in the news/general/fun sections speculating on Blackberry's financial performance, shipment numbers and general outlook. In fact you can read through my post history to get an idea of what I mean when I say I'm a numbers guy.

Oh and hey, here are some numbers you guys may be interested in! You won't find some of these numbers anywhere else!

As I said, I enjoy following the mobile phone industry.

I've been following Blackberry for a long time in terms of a financial point of view and am very interested in how their hardware business is doing and how they will grow their enterprise business now and in the future. It's interesting to me. Also I'm able to get access to various data points for Blackberry (such as the sales numbers in the UK posted in the OP) which a number of Blackberry users here maybe interested in.

All in all I like discussing about Blackberry as an organisation and their future in both hardware and enterprise, hence why I said you'll see me in the news area of the forum discussing and speculating on Blackberrys devices and future performance. I'm on other forums as well and post about the global smartphone market in general, and also about the UK market in general.

Also, here are some numbers for the UAE-
    Active Blackberry users: 1,060,000
Over 200,000 users have Blackberry 9900

Numbers don't lie but sources may and interpretations/definition of those numbers may. Welcome.
Hope you at least drove a BB10 for an extended period before deciding on Android. Android is ummm... Ugh!
    That's all I gotta say.

Working in the phone industry I've used a few recent Blackberry devices. But I do have to say I much preferred the 9900 or older bold models over the full touch Z series. Could never really get used to BB10 on a full touch screen. I do like the physical keyboard aspect on Blackberry a lot more and I'm looking forward to trying out the Classic when I get my hands on one.

At the moment I use Android because it's a big screen and is a very open OS that allows me to do a number of things easily. I didn't spend enough time with BB10 on a full touch device so still find it complicated even today. Much prefer a trackpad and keyboard on Blackberry devices.
