Potential new BB user with one concern.
Hello everybody.

The rest of this post is more for owners of GSM BlackBerries.
I'm seriously thinking of returning my 1-week-old T-Mobile Shadow and getting a BB Curve instead. I do have one concern though, one that keeps pulling me away from BlackBerry.
While I work fine with Windows Mobile devices, which I have used for three years, I'm not too attached to MS. However, as long as I have a WM device, I know I'm open to try something better that might come out, whether that new device has Windows Mobile, Symbian, Palm, maybe Android, even dumbphones.
Given that BlackBerry devices require their own separate data plan, this brings to me the concern of a device lock-in, where I'd be stuck with a BlackBerry and not being able to use data features of non-BB devices if I put my SIM card into one of them.
Is this the case? Or can you take your SIM back and forth between your BlackBerry and a non-BB smartphone/dumbphone and enjoy all the functionality of both devices? - 09-15-2008, 09:28 PM #2

Wow that was quick.
I have to wait until Wednesday to get my Curve. It costs more than the Shadow so I have to pay the difference, something that can't happen until Wednesday the 17th. - 09-15-2008, 11:19 PM #8

One more question: Is it possible to make the BB font size larger? (not just for emails but for other screens like Contacts and Options...)
