    Hi All,

I changed from a Treo 650 to an 8830 just a few days ago and I think I'm in love!

One thing that's confusing me though, I think because I'm still used to the Treo, there seems to be lots of options for turning off the 8830. You can lock the keyboard, or use the mute button for "stand-by mode." Or pressing the Off button. And putting the BB into the holster also turns it off. Is one option better than the other? Which is the best way to extend the battery life?

Glad I found this great site!

    Welcome to CrackBerry.com!

After a day or two, you won't want a 'turn off' option! To me, best thing to do is switch profiles at night (to quite) if you don't want to be disturbed. Nine out ot ten times you'll get two - three days of use with your device, and that's with constant use - I do, anyway...
