New to Blackberry Community.
Hi, My name is Tj and Nice to meet you all. I'm from Staten Island, NY.
I'm new to the Blackberry (Offically a Crackberry addict) scene and this will become my future hobby, I guess you can call that. I was introduced to Blackberry 9310 (Prepaid by Boost Mobile) exactly a month ago. I never owned a cell phone before, but did own an iPod Touch, iPad 1, iPad Mini, Android 4.0 (cheap branded) tablets. I sold them all, never been satisfied with them. So I walked into my local Radioshack after work and told the salesperson that I needed a cell phone without a contract. So I was pointed to the bright colorful boxes of Net10s, AT&T Go Phones, and Boost Mobiles.
Majority of the prepaids are these cheap looking Symbians and Androids. I knew I wanted something cool, cheap, and that I never had before and at the same time stand out from the crowd. I hate popularity, I guess I was never popular in school growing up so that stick with me. I always somehow manage to group with the underdogs and made friends that way. So I then at Radioshack, I saw tucked away near the window was the Blackberry 9310 which was marked down to $50 as part of the President's Day sale. The salesperson kept pushing me to get an iPhone or Android because his main reason was lots of marketshare. I explained to him that I wanted a Blackberry and he said the user experience sucks even the new BB10 phones. I did not listen to him and he kept insisting that Blackberry is not popular and should just go bankrupt.
I knew this dude was a joke and as a customer I got my way, he got his assistant to ring me up since he did not want to ring me up. The assistant was nice enough to activate my phone and I walked out with my new Blackberry device.
I got my first Blackberry phone on 2/20/13 at 6:38PM. I took it home, got into Wifi, got my settings and explored the Blackberry App store. I was amazed.
Weeks past, I began to get to know the Blackberry OS 7 and got exposed to Blackberry 10 via Blackberry's website. Here we are a month later, my sister gave me her old Blackberry 9780 to just play on using wifi instead of throwing it out. Just today I bought an unlocked Blackberry 8310 from J&R Music World and it looks awesome.
I've been lusting on the Blackberry Playbook and I do want one. I want to see how QNX looks and works. Also the New BB10 phones look cool and I want to play one at a local phone store.
So I'm a new happy Blackberry user, crackberry addict that is. I finally found the platform I'm comfortable to be in.
