Greetings, all.
I have been finding this site very helpful as I try to get answers to my questions as a new BB user. I used a palm treo for years, and the shift to a blackberry is a mix of happy and sad. The email is beautiful -- easy, stable, fast. However, I think I should have gotten a BB device with a full qwerty, because the pearl is so tiny that my fingers fumble and I find the suretype a bit of a pain. But I've only been on this device for a few days, so I will give myself some time. I wonder if anyone has ever told RIM that their userguide is woefully skimpy -- I hope to tap into your collective know-how on crackberry as I get berry-ized.
Welcome to CB! It's not too late you can still get a Curve! The force is strong with you young padawan learner. You need all the powers that the force of the Curve can give you.

Welcome to CB you'll get used to the suretype or should I say the suretype will get used to you. The pearl is a good device you'll learn to like it way better than a palm.
The suretype is actually better for big thumb individuals. You would be backspacing and spellchecking consistantly if you had a curve then. Get use to your device first. The comparison will then be a little more meaningfull.
Congrats and welcome! As others have said...you'll get used to SureType and grow to love it. I enjoy the compact size of my little dynamo Pearl and I can now fly through typing after initial feelings of clumsiness when typing. Enjoy!
