If I'm not mistaken and I believe you are asking how to make the ringers louder. See crackberry 101 lecture series there is one on how to work with profiles. I believe that may answer your question.

I use a program called Audacity (is free) import the tone use the amplify feature to make it as loud as you wish and export back to the device.

If you head over to the 8830 WE forum you will see a sticky where you can download a "classic" ringtone that is plenty loud. It is a problem on many phones.
