Hi, I'm new and like my username says I own a Pearl 81xx which was a hand-me-down with a pay-as-you-go SIM card from 7/11 I'm looking into trading-up but I might wait until after the BB10 announcements on the 30th (which, coincidentally, is the same week as my birthday *nudge*). And right now in the 'Similar Threads' box are several threads about the BBPearl and they date back from 2007-2008.
And Pearls are very nice. A 1 1/2-2 day battery life on a busy day and it lasts for about a week if you use it as a watch.
Oh and I'm from Toronto eh?

The Pearl was a very popular device in it's heyday, and is still capable within its limitations. My bro loved his and gifted it at least once, that I know of. My wife had a 8130chance Pearl to start with, but has moved on. Welcome to the CrackBerry Forums!

Welcome to the club. Pearl is one hand smartphone. The suretype is awesome. The battery life is good. I ever owned it at 2009. Pearl 3G at 2011. And if you enjoy the suretype, I think you will miss it when you jump into blackberry 10.
