    Hello All,

I am a newbie. Just ordered my first berry, Curve 8310, and have a question.

I would like to listen to my mp3 music files, once I load them into the berry, in my car. I have an older pioneer cd unit and not sure if there is anyway to connect the berry to it.

    Any suggestions?

    thanks

You've got two options. Pick up a radio tuner, and hook it up to the BB. (I used to use an iRiver, and it worked great)

In your pioneer unit, on the back of it (gotta take the radio out for this) there should be an auxillary input. It'll either be 2.5/3.5mm audio jack, or rca jacks. You can have a line running out to the car and plug the BB in that way as well.

Although I havent done it yet, I agree with this method.

I agree with surfanimal also. It's always better to go direct with wires. I have found those fm tuners vary in effectiveness depending on the physical lay of the land and even how many FM stations your town has.

I have an 8820 and I use a Seidio 2.5 to 3.5 adapter and when I plug into my car stereo, it only plays out of the left speakers.

    Any suggestions??

My Seidio adapter was the same way. I had to unplug it, then plug it back in, and repeat that for about a minute or two before I got stereo sound. Once it worked, though, it was great. Don't have that problem with the 8130! Whoo hoo, 3.5mm! The best things in life come in 3.5! Ha, only some of you will get that one.

Yep, regardless of device, the same type of audio cable with a 2.5/3.5mm jack on it will work using the methods listed above. As long as you have a headphone jack on the device, the sound can be routed to the stereo.

What about controlling the playback using the car receiver? I know Pioneer makes iPod adapters that connect digitally to the iPod for superior sound and it also shows playback information on the receiver itself.

Does Pioneer make a generic USB device that does something similar?

Hi all. I have just had a new car(lucky me) with a twin RCA Aux connection. I bought a 3.5mm MP3 connection cable and a 2.5-3.5mm adapter to hook it up.
I too don't want to buy an I-Pod and want to use my 8100pearl for MP3-car stereo connection.

When I plug it in-nothing comes out but some static "hum". Could it be the adapter or does the 8100 not have enough power from the headphone socket to drive the car stereo?

    Help.-missing my toones!
