Hey there! i have a blackberry 8830 and am on a SERO plan. i have unlimited date included with this. they are telling me i have to also purchases a blackberry data plan, even though i already have unlimited data. any way around this?
A Blackberry needs a specific Blackberry data plan to get all the functions working the way they should.
You could possibly get round it by installing the Opera Mini browser but some people have been unable to get it to work. This will not give you email on the BB instead you would have to go onto the net to get it.
Funny I hear questions like this all the time. Having a bb without the bb data plan just does make any sence, bb data plans are pricey but for what they give you they are a steal.

Its makes perfect sense when you are already paying for unlimited internet and text. then to add a bberry plan for internet on top of that..makes no sense. and people have posted that they have found ways around it. just curious as to how.
that's odd.. my BB plan includes unlimited internet & a ridiculous amount of text.
yeah the plan includes unlimited internet and unlimited text on any phone but the blackberry. i had it on my treo and it worked fine. but when you get a blackberry they make you pay for the unlimited data plan. so i was paying $30 for my minutes and unlimited internet.. got the blackberry and have to pay $30 plus $30 more
