Hi everyone!
A friend gave me his Blackberry 8800 since he got the Bold, and so far I'm loving it!

I've got one question for now if that's alright:
Is it absolutely imperative that I get a BlackBerry Internet Service plan to use the net on it? I don't intend on getting any push email (yet), and would just like to use it to surf the net.

I've been reading through various forums and sites (including crackberry.com) and I'm a bit confused as some say "yes", some say "no", some say "yes but" and "no but".

Would appreciate any guidance here in this matter.

Hello & welcome to the addiction!!!

To use the internet you need to get a data plan. The only exception would be to use a wifi connection, I believe. Hope this helps.
