I have an AT&T 8310 Curve with empower email standard. I upgraded as emails and text messages would disappear from my inbox - just to see that this is still happening. I have a 4GB card in my device, setting is to keep messages 'forever' - what's going on? Can anyone help?

    Thanks,
    Manuel

I am not certain what you mean by that. Memory card is functioning fine, I have songs and videos on it, all play ok. Also, I haven't lost address book contacts, etc - just emails and text messages. Does this help?

Sounds like you are low on internal memory. menu key/options/status look for the files free. You need at least 12,000,000 files free. If it is below that number the unit will start to look for ways to save memory. One way is by deleting emails & logs. Hope this helps.

mhh, it says 4112805 free...and your explanation, while logical, seems to defeat the option of keeping email/txt permanently..wish it would give a pop up warning, etc.

Your memory is very low. I'm would recommend following forum moderator Reed's guide.

I have a Curve 8330 and encountered a similar problem recently. BB tech support advised me to go into the Options menu and perform a "memory cleaning" to wipe off any unnecessary files (cookies, etc.) and it worked. For the Curve, at least, removing the battery for 10 seconds does the same thing. I don't know if this helps in your situation or not.

Removing the battery is a temporary solution however it will not address the long term problem.
