Brand new blackberry user, switched from iPhone, and not looking back.
As the title says, I'm a brand new blackberry user. I recently picked up the Blackberry Curve 8530 on Sprints network.
I have had an iPhone with AT&T for about a year and a half now, and happily paid my ETF to cancel my account and join back with Sprint. I didn't get service at my house and many other places with AT&T and was CONSTANTLY dropping calls.
Service was unacceptable (on AT&T), and I live in a major city. Whenever I had issues and called AT&T, they were always rude and did nothing to help me or troubleshoot issues. I think their exclusivity of the iPhone has really made their customer service go down the ****ter.
I'm now with Sprint and am enjoying their basically unlimited everything plan at $69. I love that they don't have a price premium for owning blackberries or other smart phones. AT&T and Verizon are super expensive. Plus, I get a 15% discount from my job.
I'm really happy with my new phone, I love new gadgets. So in the mean time, please try to be patient with my "noobish" questions around here while I familiarize myself with this new platform.
Looking forward to being a part of this community.

I agree with Sedalia: check out the Crackberry 101 lecture series. I found the blackberry interface really easy to get the hang of.
A couple tips from me though:
for the first while, whenever you change to a different screen press the menu/blackberry button. Why? it brings up a menu, but depending on which screen you're in it might show different things.
backup your phone using Desktop Manager (the CD that came with your berry) regularly.
Whenever you install or uninstall an app, do something called a "battery pull". With the device turned ON, remove the battery and leave it out for 30 seconds or so. Re-install battery and allow the berry to fully boot up. (this is the best way to reset your phone, although some people think the keyboard shortcut is just as good)
and last of all.... do not be afraid to ask for help. There is already a lot of info on here so search a bit (but sometimes you can't find the right info, or use the wrong keywords, or sometimes there's just to much info to sift through) but don't be afraid to ask. We were all noobs at some point!
Good luck, and welcome here!
