i have bought a new blackberry 8310 during an official trip to Shanghai. I
have all the documents and bill with me
However when i tried to setup the phone, i was informed that this phone was
a not a new phone! its used phone ...and whats worse...a stolen one!!!

This is really a big dissapointment for me because i thought i was buying a
new handset!! it was from a regular blackberry shop!

now i managed to get it unlocked to use on my service provider in India, but it seems the handset or pin or somethin has been disabled cos of 'security reasons'
i mailed RIM about this, but they tell me to contact the network! i took it to a technician, but he cudnt do anything except tell me the details of the previos network.

    helpppppppp!!!

Sorry to hear that. When a device is reported stole to a carrier, they disable it. There is no way to reactivate a disabled device.

i am able to make calls and messages & gps.
but i guess i wont be able to use the regular blackberry functions
one question - will the browser functions work? the ones that dont run on the blackberry network but on the GPRS
