This is my second BB. I am not sure why I'm having this problem, but...

I am sending invites to other BB owners to be on my BB Messenger. When I send the invite to them, I Get a message that says I would like to invite myself to BB Messenger?!?!

What am I doing wrong? These are folks I've had on Messenger on my old Pearl, but now with my Storm I'm having problems.

Any ideas?!

If you use the Switch Device option on the DM it will take care of adding the contacts to your Storm automatically without having to send invites. The other users also automatically get your new PIN updated on their device.
