My wife and I bought two BB's, same models, same applications installed. It seems my wife's BB drains the battery much faster than I. After a full charge (7am) and sitting in the holster till now (11a) is is already down to 70%. Does this seem right. We did exchange the battery once already. Yes, we allowed the battery to completely die then charged it up fully. Keep in mind that my battery was treated the exact same way hers was. I use mine way more than she does and it holds a charge much longer than hers. Could it be some setting that she goofed with? As for applications installed, just the ones that come with it and google apps. Could upgrading her to 4.5 OS improve this problem? She is on 4.2 (rogers). I on the other hand upgraded to 4.5. I find it hard to believe that this could be the problem.

Forgot to mention the only apps that are ever running are: Home Screen, Broswer, Messages, BlackBerry Messenger, Call Log

    Thanks

You never have to drain the battery. They love the juice.

It's always a good idea to tune-up your bb before using it.

Here's a good place to start that may answer some of your questions.

There is some application that is draining the battery as in I notice the up and down arrows for data always running. I have checked everything GPS etc... I have removed all 3 party apps. Is there a way to find out what applications are connecting. Doing the ALT/Back only gives me Home Screen, Broswer, Messages, BlackBerry Messenger, Call Log, and those are always going to run a bit. Any ideas?

The obvious test might be to switch batteries between the two devices, and see whether the short life follows the battery or stays with the phone. This would tell you whether the battery itself is under suspicion - although there's a risk you might not get your good battery back without domestic disharmony :/

I have already replaced the oem battery with a brand new battery. So I don't think it is the battery. I hate to think that it is the device itself. Hope it isn't that it is a lemon. Although like I mentioned earlier I noticed that data was almost constantly being sent and received. Now that i removed all third party apps it "seems" better. From 7am till 11a it drop from 100% to 50% battery level. It wasn't being used it was sitting in a holster. That amount of battery drain seems unreasonable considering that I have the same bb and have only dropped 35% with use in two days.

I was talking to a blackberry tech.yesterday from sprint, she said if you don't hit the menu button and close your internet connection, it stays running in the backround.
I don't know if that would be her problem but it worth a shot.

if you have apps like the browser or any form of messenger running in the background, that might be the cause of battery drain.

same goes for wifi and bluetooth. i always turn bluetooth of if i dont use it. i leave wifi on all the time even though i know i can save on the battery when im out of the signal. but that's just me.

maybe you can consider getting a battery with a higher capacity.
