Default Want BDHP for your device?

    Hey guys (and gals),

To date BDHP has been making nothing but 9700 hybrids, and as some would say the best damn hybrids PERIOD. We have been thinking about branching out, and giving some more devices some BDHP love. Thought easiest way to do this would be to post a PSA so people can nominate their device for "upgrading" for a future release. Only rules are only one post allowed per person, and state why we should start making hybrids for your device!

    Thanks,

    BDHP Team

    Storm Devices (95X0)

I think it would be fair because as of now we do not have an OS6 upgrade to look forward to, give us a reason to keep looking for new updates and upgrades for our now stuck OS5 devices

i would like it for my 8530, its kind of disappointing knowing that we will probably not get OS6. and i have read that these hybrids are amazing.

Yes i agree with craign1317.. I think the 8530 deserves a hybrid with OS 5 n 6 or at least just the webkit browser. Our browser is extremely slow and BOLT browser just doesnt give me the fun blackberry feel.

Unfortunately we can't pull webkit out and drop it into a hybrid. The dependencies in the OS are completely reworked, so we're going to be stuck with the OS5 browser for all hybrids built on an OS5 base.

That said, we have seen pretty decent improvements in browser performance in the BDHP hybrids.

I would love a hybrid OS6 for the Bold 9000 as it is a stunning phone with THE best keyboard RIM ever released and the device is perfect for those of us with larger hands. And since I am quite a way away from being able to upgrade to the 9800, I will be delighted to use a sleek OS with the features of OS6 on a phone that is indeed timeless and unique in the BlackBerry lineup.

Another vote for the 9650. Huge user base on Sprint and Verizon.

Ahh I see... Well in any case i guess a faster browser is just as good as a WebKit one. So do all of your hybrids have faster browsers?

8520, because like its sister the 8530 it's probably stuck on OS5 and could do with some Hybrid love.

Tough to say whether all of our hybrids have faster browsers - browser speed depends on so many other factors besides the cod files we use. Things like network performance, which is very individualized and itself is impacted by lots of external factors, and browsing habits impact browser performance and perceived speed.

With that said, I believe our browser selection tends to favor speedier performance. Whether I can actually empirically prove they are faster, well heck man, I don't know.

I vote for storm2. No leaked OS for months and it's very frustrating to be left behind and stuck with .713

Another vote for the 9000! As previously posted, it's really the only good option for those of us with larger than average hands. Plus it's a classic
