Default Mecca’s “Inception” 7.1.0.150 Hybrid for the 9810 now available!

Hey everyone. OSBB is back at again. Today we bring you the first, true os7.1.0.74/7.1.0.150 hybrid. Improving on one of the break through os's of all time, this hybrid adds some additional feautures, baked into a stable file set. One thing to note, and

I must stress this: BBHTools works better than BBSAK, for 7.1 file injection. Since 7.1 hasn't been officially released, most loaders haven't been updated for file injection.

Also, hotspot may throw a "contact your service provider..." warning, which will clear up once the service books are updated. Any issues with this, or anything weird, pm me and I'll forward you a copy of my systems check, so you can compare cods.

WARNING: Hybrids are meant for seasoned installers, NOT for the beginner, novice, or otherwise. I am here to support this, but in this case I'm biased towards those with knowledge of java system files

Enjoy
Mecca

Mecca’s “Inception” 7.1.0.150 Hybrid for the 9810 now available! | OpenSourceBB.com - The best freakin' hybrids. Period.

While I enjoyed the 7.1 with previous fixes there were some annoyance issues...this fixed all the remaining issues I had.

Too easy for this newb now, thanks to the great support

I will try to follow your Hybrid talk to learn more about development, I just like screwing with tech stuff. In the mean time I will try to break this one to help development.

Thank you for all you do....

One thing of note...kinda scared me a bit. Crazy long Boot time once loaded, almost 30 mins. Haven't done a bat pull yet (haven't had to) so don't know what normal is now.

I just connected with BBHTool and injected them...very quick.

The re-boot took a while....but the second reboot on bat pull (just tested) very fast. Forgot to time it but fastest I have experienced for sure.

It fixed an issue with the touch screen not allowing me to browse from the message screen to the message, I had to go to the message app then browse the message list then the message. It also fixed my accuweather app and generally has stopped acting randomly on things.

Like I said..it just keeps getting easier.

Some nice "Easter Eggs" in this...that battery app will be interesting to use to compare bat use. With everyone using the same app we should start to see a baseline of bat demand. Always thinking eh Mecca EL?

injecting with BBSAK took a long time. I almost gave up on it; at least 30 minutes.

it did work though. love the diagnostic tools. can't wait to find out what's killing my battery.

The OSBB crew keeps me busy at nite!!! Ahahaha. We got slammed with 2 versions of the same file set, and we race through them, for the latest features. Tryfe spotted the "Easter Eggs" first, while I went after getting the browser and hotspot features to load faster. Once that was locked down, battery improvements, etc were up next. Then I removed the filler, so we could all see what this lastest file set could do. I can't wait until Christmas. I'm hearing major chatter from sources

Finally have a working device after I kept getting an app error 602. Working on injecting this file set as I type this.

FYI BBHTools keeps throwing an unhandled exception error on me and closes, will have to use BBSAK instead.

EDIT:
BBSAK wont work either for me. File extension to large?

how long did you let BBSAK go? I'm not kidding when I say mine went 30+ minutes, possibly 45 minutes. It did work in the end.

Hi Mecca (or anyone else who can verify for me):

I am an experience hybrid user - want to make sure I have the procedure correct:

1) Install stock .540 on PC
2) Paste 7.1.0.74 cods into .540 java folder (from the leak posted on OSBB on 12/7)
3) Install to device
4) Inject the cods from Inception into device

Thanks,

DonH

Hi guys,

1. Vsuite version mismatch

402126
402125
OS has older version

2. Both Below Cause Handset Freezing (forced reboot)

a. accessing file folder
b. BBM will not restore contacts on media card

The above are my issues at present.

Any Fix?

Thanks!

Has nothing to do with letting it run, Doesn't even load, error is file extension to long. I tried all BB tools I could think of and none(BBHTools(unhandled exception), BBSAK(file extension too long), BBBoss(does nothing when trying to load the COD's), MCP(also does nothing) would load the 1,081 files. Not exactly sure why this hybrid is built like this rather then like a normal hybrid where you simply overwrite the existing OS COD's, or why none of these programs will load the COD's as none of you guys obviously had problems and all of these work for any other COD's. Wonder if maybe its just too many COD's at one time?
When I get home later I'm going to hand shrink out all the extra language files and see what happens.

These are problems that were in .74. If you look in that thread you will see a patch posted by Mecca EL that fixes those issues.

Good news for 9900 users, just tested these cods on 9900/7.1.0.74 it works great.

Load OS 7.1.0.74 onto 9900 than inject the cods with BBHTools, it took about 10mins, after it reboots than than reinstal your backup file.
