    Default Hybrid Help (Fixed!)

    Issue fixed.

I've tried so much to get BDHP 6.1 to work on my torch, but nothing will work. I finally found another torch hybrid,T-Max's, and I decided to add the files to the already BDHP'd OS folder. I replaced all but 1 or 2 files that I didn't pay attention to,and it worked. It seems my problem is somewhere in BDHP's files, but I can't pinpoint which file exactly won't let me install it onto my phone. I've tried replacing some BDHP'd .448 files with T-Max's files, more then I did the first time, but it won't work. I reason I want to get most, or all of BDHP's files on my phone is because my battery seems to drain faster then normal, and my BBM scrolling in messages with the trackpad jumps 4 lines every time. Any help for these problems is greatly appreciated.

    Problems
    1. BDHP gets stuck at Uploading Ram Image, with most T-Max files it works.

    2. Battery drains faster then it did when I wasn't on a hybrid and on .246. (Still lasts me all day but I don't really like seeing it drain so fast)

    3. The BBM scrolling issue.

If anyone knows of what files might cause it to not upload the ram image to my phone, or how I could find out, I would love to know so I could replace those files specifically with T-Max's.

I'm assuming you are trying to reload this hybrid with your BB connected and powered on? If this assumption is correct, you could try:

    1. Backup BB (and Apps if you want)
    2. Install Base
    3. Install Hybrid (BDHP)
    4. Disconnect BB
    5. Remove Battery from your BB
    6. Shrink anything you don't want
    7. Run AppLoader and click Next to where it detects your PIN
    8. Connect BB Without Battery
    9. Connect Battery and let AppLoader Detect your PIN
    10. Choose the features you want and then load the hybrid

I haven't had an issue doing it this way. Also note that there may be applications that are conflicting with the hybrid install. I have recently had to close my AV/Firewall when installing a hybrid to ensure all components get installed properly.

Well I just installed Windows to upgrade my phone, so nothing else besides what I need is installed. When I get home though, I definitely will try it your way. Would you recommend a wipe? Or just try it following those instructions?

YOU ARE MY HERO!!! I followed these steps exactly, and used every program (Installing OS/Hybrid, Apploader etc) in compatibility with Windows XP SP2 and as Admin. Those steps should be stickied in these forums for flawless hybrid installation. I tried absolutely everything and then you came along and said something I never heard or seen before and it worked first try. Thank you so much!!

Is this the only method to install hybrid os? Coz i dun wan to remove my battery. One more thing is, can i install base os and shrink it first? Then, i will install the BDHP.

You can do it while the device is plugged and powered on. I personally prefer doing it with the battery out. You can also install the base OS first and shrink it but the hybrid may have some cod files you originally shrunk out.

    @McStoner

I don't normally wipe the device but there are times when the hybrid doesn't take where I will wipe it

I noticed. I had errors whenever I started my phone, so I did a complete wipe and fresh installs of every app. (Except a couple because the bill didn't get paid yet so I can't download anything from App World) Everything is running smoothly, no errors, only bug I have is the cursor in BBM skipping like 4 lines still. Not sure if that is a base OS bug or BBM bug, but I can use the screen to scroll so I don't care about the problem too much. I still honestly think that method should be stickied. I'm even running Win7 on Parallels and this method worked.

Stop blaming the hybrid because more then a dozen ppl who have a torch has loaded bdhp 6.1 successfully. With no problem

I recommend wiping ur device then loading hybrid.

Bbm scrolling issue is a os issue not hybrid fault.

Shrink ur os after applying bdhp cods to base os java folder

If you noticed, I already had this issue resolved.
