How to troubleshoot Ent Activation in Hybrid?
Can anyone give me some hints/tips on how to troubleshoot getting my Enterprise Activation to complete after installing a hybrid (.114 in this case)?
I get my password reset on the server, and I can enter it successfully. It goes thru the initial steps verifying it and enabling encryption, but after it 'receives services' it seems to stall. Never completes.
What are my next steps to troubleshoot this? Appreciate any tips.
Thanks,

It just never finishes. Browser/Internet works, and I receive and send email no problem. I'm just concerned that it's not got the whole activation (and maybe I'll miss contact or calendar sync or something else).
I did a batt pull after the hybrid install, but not recently.
Activation goes entirely like this:
Activating (email address)...
Verifying encryption...
Encryption verified.
Waiting for services...
Services received.
Your email address, "(email address)" is now enabled.
-- In the past there was a lot more to it.

If you were connected to your corporate network when you did the upgrade then it probably "saved" the activation and was not necessary to re-activate. If things are synchronizing then I believe your just fine. I had this happen to me on one of my upgrades a while ago and everything was fine.

Do you think I should "cancel" the Enterprise Activation that's running now? Or will that mess things up?
I tried updating a contact via Outlook, and it hasn't sync'ed so far...it's been almost an hour. I never figured out how often the non-emails sync/reconcile, so I don't know if that's "normal".
Thanks for the quick replies!

Wait till current activation stops on it's own. It should not take an hour to sync a contact. If it fails again do the following:
check to see that wireless reconcile is turned on
do a battery pull
go to options - advanced - host routing table - click bb button and choose register now.
reset enterprise activation password
perform another enterprise activation - 03-20-2009, 09:42 AM

OK, I'll give it a shot and see what happens. Those steps, minus checking wireless reconcile is on (I think it is) is what I did after the upgrade.
I can try it again.

Tried those steps. It went thru most of the previous same text, then went to an empty screen except:
"Synchronizing service Desktop..."
* Empty *
UPDATE:
I called my hosted-exchange provider. They told me to totally delete the BES account and re-create it (instead of using their "reset" function). That finished Activation!!! Hurray!
But now I have a new problem...
Duplicate Contacts and Calendar entries. The Calendar says they're "Device Defaults" (and the Desktop are listed as a separate set). How do I delete that set of entries???
Same thing with Contacts. They both show as "Desktop". One shows Wireless Sync enabled, the other, it's grayed-out. How to delete the "group" of entries that is out-of-date/stale/old???
Thanks!

wipe the device...best case would be your BB sending the duplicates over to outlook...we could easily clean them off over there.
