Yea I was looking at the willyboy hybrid you posted. But I'm not sure if its worth it. I hear different things like how it makes the browser faster but I don't know. Do you happen to know anyone with that hybrid on there bold

I'm running the willyboy v6. been in the phone for a few days now. It runs good no problems but its no miracle I haven't notice any great speeds in my browser. These phones are not consistent I've tried every OS available for what ever berry I had at the time. Some were great some were junk. But even the best of the best OS. Some days there just slow. Right now I'm just waiting to see if my batt life increases. It was horrible on the straight 732.

I've been runnin willyboy v6. its pretty nice. a bit better than just the flat .732 files. Just try it out till you find something that works for you and your personal needs. Thats the real bottom line behind it.

Well, not much to lose by giving them a try... other than time. To be honest, I've never noticed any major difference in battery life / browser performance / etc... with any Hybrid over a well shrunken leaked OS installed from a clean wipe. So, whatever floats your boat. I like to tinker so I don't mind the wipes and re-installs.

i've tried many hybrids..driphter, shucky, willyboy, bbtweeps, etc....they are mostly an improvement over the base OS that they are based on. You will probably not see nite & day changes, but me personally, i have seen minor improvements in signal strength, battery life, memory leaks, gps, etc...i am currently running Driphter dv8.2, based on 5.0.0.419. i came back to it after try many more recent hybrids. in places that i would get 0-1 bars or 1X with .732, i get 3-4 bars with this hybrid. in my experience the newer versions have weaker radios. i live in a fringe area, so signal strength is one of the most important factors for me.

I'm running Driphter's 662/732 and have no complaints been on it for bout a month or 2.....you have nothing to loose by giving it a try and can always go back.
Just my 2cent worth.......

The only problem I ever had with a WB hybrid on 8900 was that the clock was screwed up on v5.2, but then this was clearly mentioned by WB and I wasn't able to fix it solely because I shrank the setup wizard.
This is why I updated to WB 6, and I am happy with it. No problems after more than a week of use. - 07-13-2010, 09:14 AM

Thanks guys. I did it last night and gained 5mb of memory not really too impressed with the difference but I think it was worth it, and for my first time it was pretty easy

Here's a novel idea: why not try installing the regular OS and using it for a couple of weeks. If you don't have any problems, there you are.
