Cant install hybrid with DM 6..
Ok so a few weeks ago i installed the leak DM 6 and today i wanted to install a hybrid OS (9550). When i got to the screen where you normally pull the batt and reinstall it then click next when it says UNK-PIN is no longer displaying that. It just comes up with my pin right away no matter what i do. I tried unplugging it and plugging it in without a battery. No luck. Did RIM do this on purpose? I know there has to be a way to install hybrids with DM 6. Is this a known problem that has a fix? i could find anything even close to the same problem. Thanks

Thats normal, its supposed to show your pin there, did you even try clicking next???
The battery pull/red light connect/unknown pin method is only normally used if you have nuked your BB, why you've been doing it this way each time i have no idea! - 08-05-2010, 02:24 PM #3
Don't use DM, instead go to the same folder where you delete the Vendor file and double click on Loader.exe. Be sure that DM is closed. This usually works better than DM.

Yes i tried clicking next. I have done hybrid OS's since the first storm leaks with no problem. Ive always just done them as described above and even gone as far as doing the cmd for a nuked phone. How do you do it? i searched and found the way i do it and another with DM not searching for upgrades and using what you have on a file which i cant get to work. thank you
Im with verizon no vender.exe. and the loaders are all the same. Which in this case is a OS 6 loader. Doesnt matter which way you do it it all uses the same loader. Just in different ways - 08-05-2010, 11:50 PM #5
What hybrid are you trying to install? Did you download both the HYBRID and BASE OS?
You should never have to remove and put your batter back in when loading an OS, unless you blackberry is on some type of restart cycle or the computer never reads it. Leave the battery in and if it recognizes your pin, you are doing it correctly.
When it is loading the hybrid, the loader will NOT tell you it is a hybrid when selecting it. The only way to tell if it is a hybrid is to click on the modules and see.
