I've had GPS issues with most of the later leaks, hybrids included. Most of mine center around Google Maps - either it says the GPS is unavailable or the arrow disappears while driving. Sometimes exiting Google Maps and going back in makes it work, but more often than not a BP is required.

The Hybrid before this one for the 9700 was the "BTHM OS 6/6.1 Hybrid Version 1 9700 .499/6.1" right???
I'm having bad memory leaks with this one and want to go back and give the other one a try. Am I correct in assuming that was the last one??
Thanks guys. - 05-02-2011, 05:55 PM #284
After using this build for about 20 hours on my 9700, i had a total leak of 35mb, but the battery was very good, about 1.8 an hour after moderate usage. I had kept it running through the night to see what was happening and the battery did settle down to less than 1% adr. The memory is the biggest issue though but will see how it goes for a couple of days. I just did my first battery pull and after installing about 43 apps i have 85mb left. It this can stay anywhere around 70-75 mb after a couple of days id be pleased but even then 10-15mb drop is crazy. Havent seen any clock faces or any bugs yet soo thats a positive! Will post more soon and I am using v3 not v2 just to test it out and give a full review of it. Keep uo the good work kyle i prefer your hybrids over many others out there!

This is my first time using a hybrid. It is doing wonders for my memory consumption. The phone feels much faster. FB is fast and so is browsing.
There is however one issue. I used to be able to sync automatically to my google calendar. Now I can't choose my gmail account in the calendar section.
Someone please help!

The leaks seemed to have disapppeared... I'm waiting patiently for a new one

So I've had this for a while now and I still get memory leaks... I've been using Kyle's past 3 or so hybrids and they've all had memory leaks. I'm starting to think that it might be applications that I am using rather than the actual hybrid builds. Does anyone know of any common applications that suck up memory?

No matter what, there will always be memory leaks. This is down to the radio file, apps and dependent on the amount of usage. The purpose of hybrids is to minimise memory leaks, aswell as many other things such as improve battery life. When you compare a good hybrid, such as kyle's builds, and compare them to a standard os, you will see what i mean by the results. - 05-05-2011, 02:09 PM #292
my battery seems to go pretty fast on v3, anyone else experiencing this?

Looks to me like 546 has the same platform type as 526 did. I'm going to be fiddling about with various other mix and match combinations (which is all hybriding really is anyway).
As for the memory 'leak' issue...well, I've tinkered about a bit and, in my opinion, what we're seeing is memory usage/allocation and not what is typically recognized as a 'leak' in the true sense. Just as windows machines will use variable amounts of RAM and virtual memory, the BB OS uses variable amounts of available memory. Regular fluctuations really don't concern me, and I've never had an issue with ANY applications failing due to a lack of memory. Perhaps I'm just very fortunate, but I think we tend to focus on details when we have the tools available to reveal those details at our whim.My BBM Channel: C00043675
