saos must work different for others cause it gets rid of everything, like those wallpapers and ringtones for me. I gained much more than two mb's. Like I said I booted up with 52 mb's. I have seven apps and to add on's and boot at 46 now. Twenty four hours later I only lost one mb. This hybrid is my first and so far pretty darn good!

lol! none taken.
and i'll be the first to admit, the most "memory stable" theme i've ever made still lost around 5mb over 24hrs. i schedule a reboot once a day, so i don't know for sure what would happen if i let it go, but i assume it would keep on leaking.
all that being said, it seems to me that memory can go down to 10-15mbs free before it has a noticeable effect on the device.
so to me, leaking 5-10mbs a day(if you boot at 20-25+) is well worth not having to deal with the storms stock look/interface.My Themes:

I have never booted with 52MB. But I've noticed that some users for some strange reason seem to boot with higher than normal memory. My typical boot with the .451 hybrid (after shrinking practically everything out and before installing any applications) is 42MB. If I install without using Shrink-A-OS and just simply not install the applications when selecting what to install, I will typically boot with 39-40MB. Of course, as soon as I add things like Documents To Go and the rest of my slightly larger apps, the memory drops (as would be expected as that space is now getting used).
The reason so many people notice such a big difference after they use Shrink-A-OS is because they are comparing with a fully loaded OS, but that actually isn't a fair comparison as you can remove a lot of options during the OS loading process anyhow and doing that will save you a lot of space. On Twitter: k_r_y_p_t_o - 01-28-2010, 06:17 PM #81
im trying this...i got this after i uploaded...is this normal for a hybrid as this is my first time trying...i installed .419 onto my pc, then installed the .451 hybrid...i assume it installed over the .419 file....then shrunk to my liking....and installed using the apploader...i got a message afterwards stating that the program might not have installled correctly?
is this normal using a hybrid?Running .328 > Running .419> Running .451 Hybrid >Running .676 Hybrid - 01-28-2010, 06:42 PM #82

hovercraftdriver...smart ***. find another place to annoy someone.
theaustins...i did this i have been running .419 for a couple of weeks. installed .451 with .419 already installed and ran app loader. after getting the " your software has been updated" the said message popped up. it was a windows message not an apploader message.

You don't need to have .419 installed in your phone first. You just need to have .419 installed on your computer first.
If there are messages popping up saying it didn't install correctly, that's likely just the standard Windows message that pops up when there is a potential issue with compatibility on the computer. Usually means nothing. So long as the OS installs correctly on the phone and it works, that's all that matters.

Please help - no PIN message sounds
Please help - I am having a problem with my PIN message sounds: they are no longer playing! I had actually installed OOAKDPCs hybrid, and noticed that after that my PIN messages were no longer giving ringtones when in the Holster (they do work out of the Holster). I had not changed anything nor could I find any way to change the ringtone settings to bring the tones back.
Hoping that reloading the OS would make a difference, I installed Lyricidal's hybrid. I deleted the sound settings before doing the update, and the PIN message sounds are still not playing when it is in my BB holster. They do still play when it is out of the holster.
Any ideas?
Edit: did more testing: when my 9530 is out of the holster, the PIN message tone rings and the red light flashes. When it is in the holster, NOTHING happens - no vibe, no ring, and no red light. Argh. (SMS tones work fine...)

I'm on Verizon and never had it before and now I do. Its kind of neat. I think every storm reacts different which is weird. You would think a file or code, of program would do what it is written to do regardless where it comes from. If the number 1 means one it should be one wherever 1 is right? I am blessed my storm reacts the way it should with any and all situations I put it through. Meaning apps, OS's , and everything else you can do with these phones.

Verizon customers were the only ones who saw it before and it looks like it's the same thing again. Canadian subscribers are out of luck, likely because the networks are just slightly different.

Video recorder volume with this hybrid OS
I know of one other person that had a problem like mine where the volume after recording a video with the camera was very low, even with the volume at the max level. Has anyone else had this problem and found a fix for it? It started with the 5.0.0.328 official upgrade with Verizon. I currently have the .428 hybrid on my Storm, but the video record volume during playback is still barely loud enough to hear.
Does this new .451 hybrid address this problem? Thanks - 01-30-2010, 08:00 AM #96
[QUOTE=FirePsych;4569927]I find it fascinating that people continue to post questions that are answered in other posts all over CrackBerry.com. Sadly, I fear that represents our society as a whole. Folks don't take the time anymore to help themselves. "What can you do for me before I've tried to do anything myself?"
On the other hand, I suppose (or hope) that for every person who posts repeated questions, there are 5-10 who found their answers before posting. I can hope, can't I? :-)
Having said all that...Lyricidal rules!

My app memory holds pretty steady for about a day and then it starts leaking at about 1mb plus an hour to where it might be down 8 to 10 mbs in a few short hours. Anyone else see this?
