Default Trying to get GPS working on my curve 8330

I have a Curve 8330 from Telus and, like most others with Telus, the GPS is disabled.

I've been following the instructions in the attached PDF that I downloaded from another thread here. However, even after following the instructions about changing the COM port numbers I still can't get either UniCDMA or CDMA Universal to communicate with my Curve so I can get the SPC.

Anyone have any luck with this method to enable GPS?
