Default No gps and no browser

So I got a Verizon BB 9630, unlocked it, called up ATT and had them turn on BIS. And the internet, text messaging, and phone calls work.

I've read and tried this which meant that I downgraded both the DM (6.0 to 5.0) and my OS (5.0 to 4.0) on the device AND I got both GPS/BROWSER working; HOWEVER, OS4.0 DOES NOT have BB App World which I very much love, and the BBM is also terrible on the 4.0 OS. So, this is what I need help with: How can I get GPS and a web Browser working on OS 5.0?

Thank you in advance!

Note: I do have access to Verizon. When I turn on 1XEV, the web browser and GPS icons come on, along with other scary Verizon icons (on OS 5.0). The phone service is still active on the phone. So both ATT and Verizon are active in one phone.

that happened to be before. i have an unlocked 9630 from sprint. unlocked for tmobile. first check if the icons are hidden... i doubt they are but hey you never know. second what i suggest is a wipe and reload of the os. thats what i did.

also bb app world. and BBM can be downloaded. you can have the newest version of them on os4. thats what im running right now.

Since AT&T does not sell the 9630, you will need to manually install the service books. This thread refers to the Storm, but it will also work for the 9630.

HA! ...worked like a CHARM! Sweet. But no built in GPS app. Guess I'll just have to use maps.google.com ...that worked.
