update 0.4.6 is available (minor):

What's new?
  • You now can specify the GPSLogger font size. Select between:
    • Small (= BB Default Font Size/1.5)
    • Medium (= BB Default Font Size/1.25)
    • Large (= BB Default Font Size)
  • Auto line wrap of all status data (depending on font size & text that have to be displayed)

Default Nice program...one question though

Greetings,

I tried out the program today and it's impressive and useful. I noticed something however...it appears as though when my BB locks after 10 minutes GPSLogger shuts down. Will it not run in the background while the phone is locked? Or is this a limitation of the BB itself? I suppose I could turn off auto-locking, but my fear would be I'd forget to turn it back on. I always let it lock after a short time for security reasons. Thanks!

Just a quick note to say "tbank you" for this app. I have been looking for something like this since I bought the Curve 8310, and GPS Logger works exactly as advertised.

update 0.4.7 is available (cosmetical):

What's new?
  • GPSLogger have a new App-Icon
  • The browse for FileSystem Dialogues (select Path-Directory & Export-Directory) will now render different icons before the directory text

Please be so kind and search here in the Forum for "Verizon" and "GPS"...

I am still new here too but I have learned, that there are some Providers, that block certain phone features (or made them available only for certain apps) - I have read, once you have started such an APP (that have GPS with Verizon) and then switch tasks, and then launch GPSLogger it might work.

You only need to be in a service area if you want to EMAIL your current location or the entire path to someone (yourself). Otherwise, it tracks on the screen and then can store the track (path) to an sd card where you can download that manually to a computer if you don't want the email route.

I also downloaded your program yesterday. From your description it looks perfect for me. But, i seam not to be able to get it to work reliable. I did finally get it to work for about 2 sec late yesterday. Now, it seams, I've notice, many 3rd party programs have a hard time getting sat's. I have the same problem with Telmap Nav. I do get that one to work after a long while. My Blackberry Maps will get sat's with in 2-30sec's. I have 1 3rd party program that works just as good as BM, it's called BlackStar. You'll find it in the form under "Application that shows Lat/Long etc without maps" I would, if i were you.., take a look and see how they're retrieving sat's to see if you can improve your's. I'm hoping you can so i can see what this can do.

actually the "course" information should do that (but for sure it's not a visual compass)

I have contacted one of the developers - I was hoping to learn something new - but unfortunately B* is using exactly the same code an API for receiving GPS-Data (then GPSLogger does)...

Might be, that you could be so kind and change the UpdateRate in the Options Dialogue to '1' to see, if this is changing anything...

Matthias,

Just wanted to thank you for this great piece of nifty FREE software.
Keep up the good work.

SK

PS ... Is there any way the Latitude/Longitude/Altitude information can be broadcast on the main screen, with GPSLogger running in the background. Not a big deal, but just curious.
