Default GPS problem v5.0.0.822

Hello there,

I just got secondhand Curve 8900 smartphone (EDGE, Wi-Fi) v5.0.0.822 (Bundle 1385, Platform 5.2.0.76)
Cryptographic Kernel v3.8.5.85
Branding Version: 1.0.171.243L
...
Micro Edition Location Version: 1.0.1

It's a T-Mobile.

Everything works fine but it seem I don't have GPS on the phone, I don't have GPS icon in the menu and when I go to the options/advance options/gps and refresh GPS location it says after few minutes Location Update Failed . Can anyone help me? Is it possible that I don't have GPS on Curve 8900?

Is there any official OS version that's not branded?

I just refreshed GPS but this time on my room window and after few moments he found 4 satellites and accuracy 9.4m also latitude and longitude but when I'm in my room he dosn't detect satellites. So my GPS does work when I'm outdoor, but what now!? I don't have GPS icon in manu and when I go to the options/advance options/maps it says Default Service: None and i can't change that. Do I need some application and which one?

GPS receivers require a clear view of the sky and generally can't receive signals through roofs. BBMaps should have come with your phone. Google Maps and Poynt are two othr free GPS apps. There are many more you can download.
