GPS help for 8330

So I have an 8330 curve for verizon. Started off with os 4.5 and upgraded it to 5.0. Was loving it until yesterday until my GPS stopped working. It will not work on vz navigator, blackberry maps, and won't even locate me in berryweather. I've checked the settings and permissions in all of these programs, and also in the phone..and no luck. Should i downgrade back to os 4.5? any other things i can try? any suggestions would be appreciated

Should work in VZNavigator, at least. Go to Options, Advanced Options, GPS and make sure GPS Services is set to Location On. BlackBerry Maps should work also. I don't think BerryWeather was supported on VZW 8330 running OS 5.0.

All the settings for the gps are on in the phone. Location is set to on, and i even double checked the app permissions to make sure. Do you think i'd have more luck if i downgraded back to os 4.5?

Did you load the complete Boost Mobile OS 5.0?

I believe so. Could it be that affecting it? Because I'm on verizon.

The whole Boost OS 5.0 is too big for your poor ole 8330. Go to BBTweaks.com and load the latest 8330 OS 5.0 hybrid. It is pre-shrunk. Try this out before going back to 4.5. Since you already have 5.0 on your BB you can use the Express Install Tutorial. You will find a link in the download forum. I'm willing to bet that your VZNavigator and BB Maps will be working again. Post any issues in the BBTweaks forum and the staff there will quickly help you out. Good Luck!

No problem. I ran their hybrids on my 8330 for almost a year & was very satisfied.

took about 3 hours (i'm not very tech savvy) but i got the hybrid installed. Love the os, and gonna test out the gps today :-)

the GPS will not work for BBMaps in OS5 on the 8330. it should work with VZNavigator, and it worked for me in Bing! maps. but everything else could not use GPS. in order to use the 8330 with GPS on as many apps as possible, you will need to downgrade to OS4.5, unfortunately.
