Google Maps annoying new feature?

Just upgraded to 4.5.2 and now while I scroll to find certain streets, the map reloads constantly. Before if I would scroll away from "my location, the streets would still be visible, and the only part that would load would be the area I was scrolling to. Now with this new upgrade the entire map has to reload along with my location.

Very annoying I have to say.

Same here, like a freaking sparkly disco ball, each pane redraws 4-5 times randomly before settling. Went back to 4.4.0 still does it.

Also maybe related, don't know, have lost ability to get address when tapping on map, comes up "address unavailable" regardless of where you tap on map
