Default Free GPS on 9780?

The 9780 has TeleNav for $9.99 a month or $2.99 for a day pass. Is there a free GPS app?

I've found the pre-loaded Maps app and it does show me my location (fairly close to it anyway) and it does give me mapquest style directions.

What I want is a Tom-Tom type GPS app, for free. Or at least for no monthly fee. I can live with buying the app once, just not paying for it monthly. My Tom-Tom doesn't charge by the month. So, is there a turn by turn in real time with an arrow on a map showing me where I am and where to go next type GPS app?

Thanks.

Try Waze. Free GPS Navigation with Turn by Turn - Waze

Best free turn by turn I've used.

You may also try LifeInPocket. No maps but decent turn by turn. I gave BlackBerry Traffic a shot but ended up hating it.

Note that none of the free applications are what I would describe as "good".

I used to use Amaze GPS. It was so good that it became a paid app.

I use to use TeleNav beta and it was the best GPS I have used.

I think you can still find it if you google it.

Try Garmin Mobile, one time free of $9.99 but it works great and gives you beautiful navigation directions.

It's a shame it is not supported in the Middle East Just North Africa and Europe.

I went to TelMap and they are not taking users from the USA right now.
Thanks all the same.
