blogging and sending gps locations

Hi,
my mum has a BB curve 8310 and she is going on a very long hike (600 miles) through france and spain. She would like to keep us all updated via her BB on what's happening and what her location is. Her BB seems to be a bit too old to download any apps. She has a blogger account and was thinking of using that, but I can't find out how she can 'update' a google map or something of the sort.

She's also unsure of which service provider in spain will have a sim card with BB data included so she can still use BBM

any advice or ideas will be greatly appreciated!
