Default Battery and GPS?

Hi,

If I leave the GPS on with the 9900, but only use it very infrequently during the day, then will this have a notable effect on battery? Is the GPS dormant when it's not in use? It's a hassle having to turn it off each time.

Thanks.

Mine is on all the time, in so much as if an app requires it (Facebook places, Google maps etc) then its ready to go.

I beleive it lies dormant until needed, with the exception of maps, you need to exit the maps rather than leave them in the background.

It does update it self but not very often.

I find myself refreshing location manually a lot.

I leave mine set to E911 only and wifi off. Unless an app requires it or I'm surfing at home. But its not a fair example as I have had great battery life since day 1.
