Text Messaging Problems - Blackberry 8700C

I'm using a Blackberry 8700C on the T-Mobile network and I'm having intermittent problems with text messaging.

The messages sometimes take a very long time to go through or just don't go through at all. I've also received a few "protocol errors". I have a friend who's using the same model and having the same exact problems.

Did you guys try wiping the berry and loading the OS back on?
