Text messages freeze on main screen

I have a blackberry 8330 curve and for the past few weeks when I get a text message i will read it and delete it and it will still be on my main screen and I can't get it off there unless I take out the battery. Anyone know why or how to fix this??

maybe your blackberry is slow. see how many applications are open (alt +back key in the home row) and if there are a bunch open, close them.

then, go to your internet and hit the menu button and go to options and then go to cache and delete it all. then close that (don't forget to close your browser-- Menu>Close)
