Screen on in holster?

I have a Curve 8330 and Seidio holster and when not attached to my belt it's convenient to keep the bb in the holster and just turn it around (screen facing out). The problem is that the screen automatically shuts off (per the design of the device), is there a way to disable this function so I can use the bb when in the holster?

Without altering the design of the holster (removing the magnet)
I don't think this is possible.

The whole idea of turning off the screen is for battery conservation.
