Default Outlook mail without using Enterprise?

Hello,
I'm not sure how but I was able to set up my outlook email without going through the enterprise server. I was told that in order to get my outlook work email I would the enterprise server, but when I was in my provider's blackberry site I was able to simply set up my email if I chose the route going through the outlook site. Should this be an issue with security at work? Would this cause any issues?

you are using BIS, you will be able to access your inbox only. You will not get mail sent to any subfolders and you will not be able to wirelessly sync your calendar or contacts. Your Corp security department essentially has no access to your device and they cannot remotely wipe it if it's lost or stolen. No one here will be able to tell you if this violates your IT security policy. Did you pay for the device yourself or did your company buy it for you?
