More customization (Messaging)

Let me start off by saying Blackberry theme manager is a great tool. I have seen many amazing themes come out of it. I do find certain areas of customization completely lacking though, my main pet peeve is the new text messaging system. I do not like the conversations, I liked having each message completely separate. Another feature to do with the messaging I get annoyed with is the emoticons, forcefully changing all the text I use that fits an emoticon into that respected emoticon is unnecessary. The emoticon button is right next to the text field, so if I wanted to put a smiling face instead of a colon and a bracket I would have. These features should be (imo) changeable in the os' settings.
