That should put the cost at about $999.99 on a 5 year contract

The stock battery should be between 2100 and 4500 mAh, giving it a week without needing to be recharged.

I'm going to be somewhat realistic (with a little fantasizing )here.

    -QNX
-4.3in screen (This is pretty much confirmed. Or is it 4.1?)
    -1.5Ghz dual core
    -Graphics card
    -The Marvell LTE chip.
Marvell debuts first single-chip LTE world modem for smartphones, tablets and more -- Engadget
That will help reduce costs and at the same time have more space to put other stuff inside the phone.
    -8MP back. 5MP front
    -Slide out physical keyboard
-3D on the phone (If it can be pulled of correctly)
    -3D/HD camera/recording
-A full day's (24 hours) use if used heavily. That is an amazing feat with the specs.

And that'd be my dream phone at this point.

Mush said get rid of the track pad and bb buttons. I would never my a bb without a trackpad and the buttons

I'm not posting about my perfect phone, but just one small thing I would like to see is to be able to change the icon sizes. On the torch, you have 4 icons going across. It would be nice if you could chose between 3, 4, and 5. I know someone who just got theit first bb (the new bold) and they can't see it too well. It would be nice if you could adjust how many icons went across so they would be a little bigger. And me, I would like 5 across so they're a little smaller.
    Anyone agree?

And I love the new bold. And I like the looks of that "porsche bb" out there. The Xwhatever its called. I know people don't like it, but put a real trackpad on that baby with bold specs and I want it.

I mean I'd love the 10mp cam, but my torch camera takes great pics and a 10mp would take up a lot more memory per pic. I take a lot of pics of stuff I see and just never delete them.
Front facing cam for video chat would make it perfect. Not that I would use it a lot, but knowing I can is awesome.

    * Slowest and most efficient dual-core processor capable of running QNX buttery smooth and without lag. With a dedicated graphics chip if required.
    * Plenty of RAM for the OS and 32 GB of on board app/file storage + micro SD card slot
    * 1080p capable front and rear cameras for video, with the ability to reduce resolution for still photos if the user wants to. Flash and infrared illumination for low light.
    * Bluetooth/NFC/WiFi/infrared transmitter (to control my tv )
    * Accelerometer/magnetometer
    * Micro HDMI out
    * Large battery (2 days heavy use would rock), external charging contacts.
    * 4 - 4.3" HD Super AMOLED screen with full QNX gesture support
    * LTE capable

i'll have to agree and say that the 9900 series is the most ideal blackberry. to be honest, the only thing i see missing thus far from a 9900 is a front facing camera and wifi hotspot. but those are not necessities, just competitor killers.

Since it has to be touch, I think it has to look like the Palm pre 2. A compact touch slider. It has to have this form factor. Shouldn't look like the Torch 9800. It looks so huge for a phone which isn't powerful enough.
It has to look like the Pre. People won't miss the hard keyboard and won't miss the touch experience.
This should be the model of the newer QNX phones. I dunno how RIM will stand against its huge competitor with half baked devices. It has to come up with a wonder in order to compete. I hope things go well soon. But I think a compact touch slider will be a real deal. God bless RIM and the RIMmunity.

Here's something that's current and possible to make today...

    QNX OS of course...
4 inch super AMOLED screen(with thin bezel)
    8MP cam w/ auto focus & LED Flash rear(5MP front)[HD recording]
    Full touch(or with landscape keyboard)
LTE/HSPA Capable/CDMA/GSM(all of that good stuff)
3.5mm headset jack(bose or beats speakers)
No hardware buttons on front of device(just volume rockers, power/standby button)
    2 convenience keys(classic BB)
    1.5 Ghz dual core
    hdmi
    micro usb slot(externally accessible)
    USB 3, Bluetooth 3, wifi(b/g/n), NFC
    1GB-2GB RAM
    8/16/32/64GB app/media memory(gotta have options)
    Micro usb
Power mat capable without extra battery door
Small solar cells on top bezel like those found on a sports watch(helps with battery)
    2000mAh battery(minimum)
Would be somewhat heavy but light enough to carry and if these specs were met, people would understand the reason for bulk(heck, the PlayBook is really thin for what it packs).

My dream phone is the easiest for RIM to make.
Take the Playbook and put a full voice and data cellular chip in it.
    Improve bluetooth to version 4.
Make the battery accessible for swapping.
Release the OEM bluetooth keyboard case.
    Done.
