Yesterday we saw willowglass. Well today Tactus revealed the "world’s first" deformable tactile surface capable of creating dynamic physical buttons.

Mobile tactile tech gets physical | TG Daily

Aside from the obvious benefit to gaming on touchscreens, there are so many other applications that this will be huge for.

I hope RIM will seriously look into this.

That would creep me out at first, lol.
But it is cool. RIM should look into it.

Something like this would be an awesome way for RIM to both keep the beloved physical keyboard AND have an all touchscreen device... this would be (will be?) revolutionary.

That's awesome! RIM needs to make some $ so they can acquire this company too.

This just sounds like it came out from a Sci-fi movie. Unbelievably cool and the possibilities are endless. Now it all just comes down to reliability...

Perfect to continue the grace of blackberry's buttons and keyboard. Now onto the trackpad.

    Trust me on this one.

My friend and I were checking NBA schedules online and he was using a 4S and I was using my faithful 9860

We were trying to find one match and see the details
While my friend was fumbling with pinch to zoom,
I pinched. Zoomed in the most. I then used the trackpad and I was on the page 30 seconds before he was.

    The trackpad is very important.

    I can't stress it enough.
So accurate and handy with even the best touch tech.

Although it's niche, I just thought about the possibility of tablet accessibility for the blind.

At the moment the only alternative is sound cues which gets the job done I guess.

But now with this you can possibly do BRAILLE.

I'm all for those with disabilities enjoying the same tech we all use.

I couldn't agree more. I find that I bridge up my 9930 sometimes when browsing on the PlayBook just to use the trackpad. I really wish they would continue the trackpad onto BB10 but for now it seams that they won't.
Never know though. They might find that with enough people wanting it that it might just make a comeback on future BlackBerry phones.
