LOL, the same concepts explain the fanaticism toward religion.
Its part of the human evolution. Richard Dawkins explains it best. Humans need to belong to a group as only a group provides us the security and freedom to advance ourselves by providing assured resources. Once we commit ourselves to a particular group, tribe, religion then all other groups, tribes and religions are seen to be a threat to our chosen way of life.
In the modern world, the concept of tribe has become huge (countries), and most religions have become mature (most not all, some still indulge in blowing stuff up, but that's another discussion), so that leaves us with finding other groups which are smaller and feeds our evolutionary needs of belonging. That translates to cars, computers and smartphones amongst other things. And that is what we see in the forums.
Its fine. With all the cross platform bashing we are just being human. And without that the world will be boring. Its fun. Hey I don't know about you guys, but I'm waiting for the next thread from Blacklion15. At least he makes things interesting for a small time
