If you could use any past Blackberry and make it OS7/4G compatible and have all updated internal specs to todays standards, what blackberry would it be?

i would choose the 8220. i LOVED having a flip phone again, i LOVED the external display and i LOVED the suretype with wider keys (even though i never owned any 81xx devices)

and here is the rule~ it must be a device you actually owned not one you wanted! if that were the case i'de pick the 9000

My Torch 9800, but again, that's why we have the 9810. And If I said my 8900, that'd just make it the best device ever made.

My current Storm2 9550. I actually love the surepress screen. Gives me room for error without making me 2-tap or backspace as much.

If this thing had updated hardware specs (processor, memory, gps, and storage options) it could/would be able to run QNX. That would rock.

    THIS is very hard.

I think I'd LOVE to see a 8330 with a highrez touch screen, but everything about the body to be the same, the trackball was amazing, the keyboard had amazing feel, the only chicklet keyboard I have liked was on the 8330. the build quality and durability made it bullet proof.

That said, I really would love to see RIM have released a Storm 2 9550.

The Storm 2 was grossly underpowered, and the OS was not friendly to the operation, SurePress could have been done better with better underpinnings and a higher resolution screen

Curve 8330. Replaceable trackball, durable, the charging port was in a decent place.

    8220 and 8700...

8700 was the best keyboard period IMO.

    LOL @ Charging port!

that was ONE of my reasons for choosing the 9900 over the 9800 the 9900's charging port is where the 8330's was

    I agree
    I was rocking a 8330 and a 9630 at the same time,

I complained extensively about the charging port,
though the MicroUSB vs MiniUSB I did prefer

another vote for the Storm 2. It had the most potential. "For me" it was very good, but not great.

I would have to pick the 8900. Update that thing with a modern processor and a high res screen ani life would be grand. Loved that keyboard.

Oh boy, a special edition 8830, the metal one... Boy... that running 7, on updated hardware/res...

Or a Storm2 format with non-clickable screen. We gotta give it to the S2, the design was awesome.

i loved my 9550 as well, probably my second favorite after the 8220. but the main thing i loved about the 9550 was the sure-type that i had grown to love from the 8220 lol which has made me love my 9810 lol

My old 8900 updated to today's specs and I would be just fine - especially if the battery lasted 3 days like it did on my phone. I would even consider keeping the track ball, as I was very good and changing it (you had to take an 8900 right apart to do so) and I had found a little tiny phone place that sold them in Toronto for $5 flat.

8830 wins for me also. The back of the phone was what made me love the Blackberry. That with a touch screen : o oh baby!
