Help with deleting groups from my Contacts

Is there anyway to delete everyone in a group - deleting the group is ok too. I had an app load up my contacts with everyone in my church. Now its hard to find my old contacts.

What phone do you have cause on mine,
you go into contacts,
find the group listed in the contacts list
Press the dots button to bring up the menu
Select "delete group"

As far as I can tell, you can only delete one contact from a group at time unless you delete the whole group like above.

This should only delete the contacts from the group, they should still be in the main contacts list.
