What app store profits? I think the amount of phones they would sell would overpower whatever theoretical (due to how absolutely abysmal it is) app store profits they would lose.

It won't happen cause it's not an Android device and can't even pass the Android compatibility tests. Go look at he API gap on Blackberry's Developer Web Site. I doubt that Runtime would Pass Google's Compatibility tests. Even some of Google's own 1st party apps would have issues running without issues.

That is something i.e. B&N did not have to worry about with their Nook Tablets, which got Google Play access after the fact.

Flipboard is largely redundant as there are apps like Pulse and Google Currents that does pretty much everything Flipboard does.

Sina Weibo has basically a monopoly in China, where services like Facebook were blocked, censored, or restricted for years. It makes sense for them to throw it on every platform. iOS and Windows Phone has Platform-level support for Weibo and has for quite a while.

One of the reasons BlackBerry is doing poorly now is that in the past users like Mike have accepted mediocrity with out question. The new Nexus 7 -32 gig is only $269 and it is better than the PB is just about every possible way. I do own both.

I got the playbook for free. If that's accepting mediocrity, then call me Average Joe.

I personally think the Q10 is becoming a Playbook faster than the Z10 but that is another debate.
